- Fastest acceleration and best efficiency in its class
- Most affordable large premium sports coupe, priced at $238,500
Canberra, Australia, 20 February, 2014 – The storming RS 7 Sportback has arrived in Australia. This unique performance vehicle blends the A7's distinctive design with the crushing performance of Audi's 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8.
"The very first RS 7 Sportback is a truly unique performance vehicle," said Andrew Doyle, Managing Director of Audi Australia Pty Ltd.
"It combines performance and stunning design seamlessly, and complements these features with practicality thanks to it's capacious storage area. It is also more affordable than any of its rivals. Discerning performance car buyers have already shown great interest, and we expect that this attention will heighten as people have the opportunity to experience this exceptional new model," said Mr Doyle.
The RS 7 Sportback is the ideal complement to it's sibling – the mighty RS 6 Avant. Between them, the stylish RS 7 is ideal for those more design-oriented customers, while the Avant offers the added virtues of a load-lugger. Both offer blistering performance.
Producing 412kW and 700Nm, the mighty 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine features an innovative design, with the exhaust and turbochargers sitting inside the 'vee', and intakes plumbed to the outside of the engine. This is in contrast to conventional design.
The greater thermal efficiency of this layout aids better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Fuel consumption is a responsible 9.8 litres per 100km.
Performance is in the realm of elite supercars, with astonishing acceleration that sees the RS 7 Sportback reach 100 km/h from rest in just 3.9 seconds. A top speed of up to 305 km/h is possible with the Dynamic Package Plus.
