What do a Winter Olympian, a Celebrity Chef, a Comedian, a Former Miss Universe Australia and a Getaway Presenter have in common? They have just been unveiled as the next batch of drivers to take to the grid at the Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge.
Lydia Lassila, Adam D'Sylva, Tommy Little, Scherri-Lee Biggs and Catriona Rowntree have been announced with less than two weeks until the 2014 Formula 1+é-« Rolex Australian Grand Prix takes over Albert Park and the celebrities go head-to-head in the star-studded race.
They will join an array of other Australian and international names including Olympic Gold and Silver Medallist Torah Bright, Australian Cycling Legend Robbie McEwen and Model and Presenter Rachael Finch.
Lydia Lassila who has just returned home from her fourth Olympics in Sochi with a bronze medal said she is revved up and raring to go in this latest challenge.
"I love the Formula One so it's awesome for me to be able to drive the Albert Park track and at least imagine being a racing car driver!" said Lydia.
"I'm looking forward to having the freedom to drive as fast as I can. I've never been in a race with cars so I'm sure that's going to be entertaining."
Hoping to stop Lydia in her tracks will be Presenter, Author and Celebrity Challenge maven, Catriona Rowntree.
"I've compete in the Celebrity Challenge twice before but I am not sure this will give me any advantage," said Catriona.
"I may not be the fastest out there but I will certainly talk the most and of course have a fabulous time!"
