• Peugeot unveils 3008 GT and GT-Line ahead of Paris Motor Show debut
  • GT and GT-Line model features visual and performance upgrades
  • Models under negotiation for Australia

Peugeot has unveiled its first ever GT badged SUV, the 3008 GT, alongside a GT-Line variant of the same all-new SUV.

While not yet confirmed for Australian introduction, both GT and GT-Line models feature bespoke styling and features.

Sitting atop the all-new 3008 range the GT variant features a 133kW, 400Nm, 2.0L turbo-diesel drivetrain paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with stop-start technology.

The model can be identified by an optional two-tone "coupe-franche" paint treatment – first debuted on the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary and later on the 308 GTi 270 by Peugeot Sport.

The GT-Line finish offers a combination of sporty and top-of-the-range looks with more affordable engine versions.

General Manager for Peugeot Australia, Kai Bruesewitz, said the all-new 3008 will be a welcome addition to the Peugeot line-up.

"The 3008 continues Peugeot's product lead reinvention, underpinned by an overall desire to design, develop and engineer vehicles that are efficient, enjoyable to drive and great to look at," said Bruesewitz.

"While we are still negotiating the final model and drivetrain line-up we believe the 3008 GT and GT-Line suit the Australian market and customer tastes, and we are hopeful of securing the model as part of the all-new model range for 2017," said Bruesewitz.

The all-new Peugeot 3008 range is due for Australian introduction in the first half of 2017, with further details regarding local specification and model line-up available closer to launch.

GT MODEL TO SIT ATOP 3008 RANGE

From its launch the new Peugeot 3008 will have a simple and transparent range for all Peugeot customers. Consistent with the brand's global model strategy the possible range could include:

  • Access, Active and/or Allure models (market dependant),
  • GT-Line, and
  • GT version

The latter is advertised as a top-of-the-range, exclusive and resolutely dynamic proposition, whilst at the same time being perfectly usable on a day-to-day basis.

Aimed at enthusiasts the new Peugeot 3008 GT offers to combine all the qualities of the range's new SUV, including assertive style, an amazing interior with the new Peugeot i-Cockpit®, high-tech equipment, with sporty and exclusive touches.

The 3008 GT will feature:

  • An exclusive 2.0L BlueHDi 133kW engine, combined with the EAT6 automatic six-speed gearbox. It is the most powerful version of the range, providing even more intense driving pleasure
  • A sportier attitude with flared guards and 19" tyres as standard (235/50/R19), combined with two-tone diamond-cut BOSTON wheels. Only available for the GT version, this dynamic tyre is combined with running gear specifically developed to leverage the greater grip and handling from the tuned suspension package.
  • Finely crafted, technologically advanced lights with full LED structure standard, plus sequential indicators.
  • An exclusive bodywork colour, "Coupe-franche". With a standard two-tone roof in brilliant "Black Diamond", the GT version offers an optional "Coupe-franche" paint design using three of the range's colours (Platinum Grey, Amazonite Grey and Metallic Copper). Still sporting a Perla Nera black rear, the GT "Coupe-franche" gives the range's new standard exclusive connotations and identifies it with Peugeot's know-how.
  • Specific exterior design elements and a refined and sporty internal environment.

ENHANCED PEUGEOT i-COCKPIT® BRINGS LUXURY INSIDE

The GT adds a sense of sportiness to the 3008's innovative i-Cockpit passenger compartment, featuring a technologically advanced digital instrument cluster.

The on-board experience is enhanced by the rich interior and the modern, almost futuristic appearance of the driver's compartment. The choice of materials and the precision of the adjustments make a significant contribution to the level of perceived quality in the passenger's compartment.

The GT's interior sports fine copper double topstitching on the dashboard trim, door trim panels and central armrests. This copper topstitching is also on the contoured seats covered with a 3-material TEP/ Alcantara trim, or as an option, with Nappa Mistral leather.

Once seated the driver feels immediately attracted to the beauty of the compact steering wheel, which proudly sports the GT logo in chromed steel on the lower section and the rim of which is covered with full-grain leather and copper topstitching.

The optional genuine aged-oak trim on the dashboard and door panels are a joy to behold and touch. This "Grey Oak" trim fits both with the car's high-end status, and an environment inspired by modern home design.

Finally, the exclusive touch in the GT's interior environment is based on a host of small details demonstrating the brand's know-how in the area of comfort and prestige: touches of satin steel chrome in the driver's compartment, stainless steel pedal unit, footrest and front door sills, floor mats with copper stitching, black roof trim and window uprights etc.

The exclusive feel extends to the handset keypad which has a different copper colour. It is a feast not just for the eyes, all the other senses are also treated thanks to the i-Cockpit® Amplify, a real amplifier of sensations i-Cockpit®, standard in the new Peugeot 3008 GT really amplifies the driving experience.

Dynamic settings (with the Driver Sport pack), intensity of lighting, screen displays, configuration of acoustic environment, release of delicate fragrances, possibility to have access to a multi-point massage setting on front seats.

The all-new Peugeot 3008 GT ensures occupants are transported in a multi-sensory, high quality world.

SPORTY AND ASSERTIVE EXTERIOR DESIGN

The exterior design of the new Peugeot 3008 is very powerful. It has adopted all the characteristics of traditional SUVs but is surprisingly expressive and has a signature design language that flows through the whole vehicle.

The proportions are perfect and the design is inspired. For the 3008 GT designers used these qualities and maintained them in the right proportions. Not over-doing it, maintaining the harmony, whilst keeping the specific features which give the model its exclusive feel.

The front side sports an exclusive radiator grille. It is broad, and surrounded by a strip which is no longer chrome, but bi-aspect "Sanded Chrome", and it proudly sports the Lion Rampant in the centre of a chequered chrome radiator grille.

The overall effect is rounded off by the exclusive bumper combined with the full LED headlights – which add to the overall steely look of the front end.

The elegant profile is highlighted by the stainless steel rear quarter light and window weatherstrips. Along with the stainless steel trim which runs along the roof to the rear spoiler, they frame the glazed surfaces with streamlined elegance.

The beltline's proportions give it a lower and more dynamic look than the majority of its competitors.

With its widened wheel arches, 19" wheels, slender streamlined aluminium roofbars and copper GT monogram on the front wing the 3008 GT has an impressive profile – especially if it has the emblematic "Coupe-franche" paint design! This takes the new Peugeot 3008 GT into another world, that of exceptional vehicles.

LED welcome lighting (located in the door mirror shells) proudly projects the famous Lion Rampant on the ground, a sign of the designers' care and attention to detail.

At the rear, in addition to the GT monogram on the tailgate, you will notice the double chrome exhaust pipes located either end of the bumper. These stylistic elements are perfectly integrated, giving an air of chic and elegant sportiness.

NEW PEUGEOT 3008 GT-LINE: TOP-OF-THE-RANGE SIGNATURE

The 3008 GT-Line will leverage the flagship status of the 3008 GT by offering a range of visual enhancements over standard variants.
As such, the exterior features:

  • GT Line logo on the front wings and rear tailgate,
  • A specific front bumper with full LED lights and the GT radiator grille,
  • Stainless steel quarter light finishers and weather-strips,
  • Dual chrome exhaust pipes,
  • "Black Diamond" roof as standard.

The GT Line finish also benefits from 18" two-tone diamond cut aluminium wheel rims and Perla Nera black door mirror shells (they are chrome on the GT).

Inside, occupants will find a sporty and refined environment (including the copper topstitching) with the exception of the "Grey Oak" trim, the Alcantara seats and the various pieces of trim and strips which are still in satin chrome.

As standard, all 3008 feature i-Cockpit® Amplify which aims to enhance the well-being of all occupants.
