After more than 25 years of operating out of Brisbane branches, Shannons has moved into a larger state-of-the-art headquarters featuring a new Queensland Classic Auction facility at Eagle Farm – appropriately in time for Shannons milestone 40th Anniversary Auction from 23-30 November.

The move to 107 Fison Avenue West, just off the Gateway Motorway and five minutes from Brisbane Airport, marks Shannons entry into Queensland Classic Auctions and vehicle sales. It follows the opening last year of a major new facility in Sydney.

The new building has been designed to deliver a better customer experience, with features including a Shannons Clubhouse that will host car club meets and other motoring functions, a well-equipped customer lounge, onsite car parking facilities and greater capacity to support the growth of Shannons insurance, events and national auctions businesses.

Announcing the completion of the move, Shannons National Auction Manager, Christophe Boribon said the new facility would become a hub for motoring enthusiasts with its clubrooms, expansive vehicle Showroom and the launch of auctions in Queensland.

 "It reinforces the strength of the Shannons business brand in terms of expanding our footprint in Queensland. It has been a long time coming and with a growing number of enthusiasts in Queensland today, we are finally able to bring the unique Shannons Auction experience to the doorstep of existing and new local customers," he said.

Adjacent to its large vehicle showroom, the building incorporates a new 'Lakeside Room', named after the famous Queensland circuit. The room is dominated by a large black and white photograph of racing legend Dick Johnson's famous 'Tru Blu' Ford XE Falcon competing at Lakeside, while the showroom walls are lined with motoring  banners amidst other photos of famous motor racing moments at both the former Surfers Paradise and the Lakeside circuits.

The building also incorporates a larger area to accommodate Shannons growing insurance team, with facilities for vehicle inspections and re-valuations for customers.

A key to the new building's acceptance by Queensland motoring enthusiasts will be its outstanding location, just one minute from the Southern Cross Way exit coming across the Gateway Bridge from the south, while if coming from the north along Kingsford Smith Drive, it is a convenient right turn at Fison Ave West.

"Shannons presence in Queensland has always been strong, whether through our regular representation at more than 100 state events every year, or by car clubs utilising our clubroom for their regular meetings," Boribon said.  "This new facility will cement an even greater partnership between Shannons and the motoring community in Queensland".

Shannons currently supports more than 1,200 motoring events around Australia each year and the new facility sets a benchmark for the Australian classic vehicle market.

"We continue to make a real difference to many enthusiasts' lives through our support of Clubs and motoring groups," Boribon said. "Our Shannons Club has now grown to welcome almost 140,000 online members, with 120,000 unique visitors every month".

"Shannons has continued its support of Australian motorsport over the years, hence the strong racing theme of the new facility," he said. "We have formed many great partnerships in the process."

Shannons next Classic Vehicle sale is the 2021 Shannons 40th Anniversary Auction from 23-30 November that is now open for entries, with a number of Queensland-based Classics and memorabilia seeking new owners.
