Volkswagen Australia has sold 433 vehicles of all types via online ordering alone this year to the value of some $26 million.
Since making the (now in showrooms) T-Roc available for online pre-purchase in January, Volkswagen customers have configured and proceeded to buy 433 vehicles of all types.
Further, 349 online customers purchased a Volkswagen Care Plan, which was introduced earlier this year. Eighty per cent of these opted for the full five year Care Plan over the alternate three year version, thereby securing the first years' service for free.
This year has seen an unprecedented 2.4 million visits to volkswagen.com.au/ Requests for dealer contact have tripled on 2019.
All new Volkswagens from the Polo city car to the Crafter van are included in the enhanced online purchase process.
When the car is configured to personal requirements and the $500 deposit made, the designated dealer makes contact within 48 hours to complete the purchase and arrange delivery. Customers can also choose vehicles not currently allocated to a dealer via the Stock-Locator tool.
Volkswagen Australia Director Customer Experience and Marketing, Jason Bradshaw, said the growth in online sales was "definitely attributable to our new online tools that now include stock search, trade-in-valuation and pre-order".
"Our Dealership Partners, which are always the completion point of purchase and delivery, also directly benefit from our enhanced online ability, not least during the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-10 pandemic."
All new Volkswagens come with a five year factory warranty. They are offered with the option of a three-year or a five-year Care Plan at $1300 and $2100 respectively, the latter plan saving the cost of the first service.
