The eagerly anticipated Next-Gen Mazda CX-5, which is now on sale, boasts new levels of refinement and sophistication and offers a premium driving experience.

Australia's favourite SUV for the last four years, and now available in five grades for the first time, the Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 integrates a beautifully elegant and quiet interior with a mature exterior design and an expanded suite of impressive i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies.

In addition, thanks to the inclusion of G-Vectoring Control and the comfortable, newly designed front and rear seats, ride and handling is more enjoyable for both the driver and passengers, while rear air vents and an electric tailgate are available on selected grades.

With prices starting from $28,690 (plus on road costs) for the entry-level Maxx, the range also consists of a core-grade Maxx Sport, an all-new core-plus Touring spec, the high-grade GT and the top-of-the-range Akera.

The Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 Maxx features LED headlamps, power mirrors, rear seats with a reclining function and 40/20/40 split fold backrests, MZD Connect with a multi-function commander control, Digital radio and Bluetooth, advanced keyless push button engine start, and Blind Spot Monitoring BSM), rear parking sensors, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), reverse camera and Smart City Brake Support [Forward/Reverse] (SCBS F/R) as standard equipment.

Stepping up, the Mazda CX-5 Maxx Sport adds 17-inch alloys, dual zone climate control air conditioning, rear seats with centre armrest storage and USB inputs, satellite navigation and rear air vents.

The well-appointed Touring spec - which has been introduced to attract existing buyers to higher end grades and to reduce the price gap between the Maxx Sport and GT variants - has everything the entry and core grade alternatives have, but also includes a flip-up Active Driving Display, black Maztex/suede seat trim, advanced keyless entry, front parking sensors and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).

The GT grade has 19-inch alloys, Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), a power operated tailgate and sunroof, a windscreen mounted Active Driving Display and black or pure white leather seat trim, while the top-spec Akera comes with an additional range of i-ACTIVSENSE safety technology including; Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with stop and go function, Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane-keep Assist System (LAS), a side camera and Smart Brake Support (SBS).

The Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 is available with three efficient engine types including a 2.0 litre and 2.5 litre SKYACTIV-G petrol and a 2.2 litre SKYACTIV-D diesel, mated with either a 6-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual or 6-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission, and in All-Wheel and Front-Wheel Drive.

Running on standard unleaded (91 RON) or diesel, fuel economy numbers start from a low 6.9L/100km for the 2.0L petrol engine and 7.5 litres per hundred for the 2.5 litre petrol alternative, while the Diesel sips a light 6.0 litres per 100 kilometres.

Diesel models also take on the High-Precision DE Boost Control, Natural Sound Smoother and Natural Sound Frequency Control technologies recently introduced on Mazda6, which combine to further evolve the level of driving performance and quietness.

There are eight contemporary exterior colours to choose from, including the newly developed Soul Red Crystal Metallic, plus Machine Grey Metallic, Eternal Blue Mica, Jet Black Mica, Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Sonic Silver Metallic, Deep Crystal Blue Mica and Titanium Flash Mica.

The Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 also features the efficient and lightweight SKYACTIV Technology, the impressive i-ACTIV AWD all-wheel drive system, and the award-winning 'KODO - Soul of Motion' design language.
