Mazda and Opera Australia today announced an extension of their highly successful 15-year partnership, by a further three years to 2021.
Having proven to be a fulfilling partnership for both parties, through its targeted projects and productions, Mazda and Opera Australia will continue to present some of the country's most loved operatic events to the Australian community.
Specifically, the annual free public concerts – Mazda Opera in the Domain in Sydney and Mazda Opera in the Bowl in Melbourne – have gone from strength to strength over the years, attracting enthusiastic audiences in record numbers.
Opera Australia CEO Rory Jeffes welcomed the ongoing commitment.
"Mazda's support over the past 15 years has been significant and the partnership is now considered one of the most enduring and successful in the Australian arts space. Our shared values and common goals which align so well means we are able to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for both companies.
"With Mazda's support we are able to present some of the most exciting opera projects in the country with their major support of Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, Opera on the Beach in Coolangatta and our musical productions."
Like Mazda, Opera Australia strives for excellence in its undertakings, driven by imagination and vision to bring their productions to a broad and diverse audience.
Vinesh Bhindi, Managing Director of Mazda Australia echoed Mr Jeffes sentiments.
"Mazda has a long and proud history, and a strong commitment to supporting the arts in Australia," said Mr Bhindi.
"We are thrilled to further extend our long-standing partnership with Opera Australia, and look forward to bringing more inspired performances and unforgettable experiences to Australian audiences across the country."
