Australia's favourite city car, the stylish Mazda2, is now more appealing with the arrival of a revised Sport range that adds new features and improved value.

The refreshed line-up sees a new Neo Sport model replace the previous entry-level Neo while the newly upgraded Maxx Sport model replaces both the Maxx and the Genki at the top of the Mazda2 range.

Mazda2 Neo Sport carries over the impressive list of features from the outgoing Neo but now also adds 15-inch alloy wheels at no additional cost. With air conditioning, cruise control, steering wheel mounted audio controls, USB input and power windows all standard features, the Mazda2 Neo Sport is perhaps the best-value Mazda ever.

With a long list of safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), traction control and six airbags standard across the range, Mazda2 is not only one of the most stylish small cars on the road, but also one of the safest.

Maxx Sport now offers more than $1200 in additional equipment having received a luxurious ‘Genki' style makeover. It now comes fitted with front fog lamps, a stylish chrome exhaust extension, a trip computer, leather gear shift knob (on manual models) and a red stitched leather wrapped steering wheel.

A further touch of class sees an update to the interior trim, with red stitching also added to the comfortable front and rear seats.

Driver and passenger comfort is also enhanced with the inclusion of climate control air conditioning and the ambient temperature is now displayed on the instrument cluster.

It is also more affordable, with the Maxx Sport's list price dropping by $760 for both manual and automatic models.

Mazda2, Australia's most popular light car, now sports a new range of colours. Jet Black mica and Blue Reflex mica - which made their debut on the All-New Mazda6 - have been added offering new car buyers eight exciting colour alternatives to choose from. Metallic and mica paint colours are a no cost option on the Mazda2 range.

Mazda Australia's director of marketing, Alastair Doak, said: "Mazda2 is already Australia's favourite city car and this latest upgrade makes it even more appealing than ever. Style and safety have always been two hallmarks of the Mazda2 range but with buyers also benefitting from improved value there is more reason than ever before for new car buyers to consider this impressive light car stalwart."
